Hatters Host VMI on Friday

Stetson hots a post-Thanksgiving matinee when the Hatters welcome VMI to the Edmunds Center for a 1 p.m., tip off on Friday. The game is being streamed on ESPN+.
 
The Hatters (1-4) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak. On Monday, Stetson suffered an 81-72 home loss to Robert Morris. Marques Sumner led the Hatters with 16 points, while Ricardo Lynch scored 12 and Kenny Aninye added 11.
 
VMI (4-2) enters Friday's game following a 106-80 win over Kentucky Christian. Sophomore Bubba Parham, who leads the Keydets in scoring at 23.3 points per game, scored 33 in the win.

News & Notes
•Friday's game is the third meeting between Stetson and VMI. The Hatters own a 2-0 lead all-time in the series, but the teams haven't faced each other since 1978
•VMI is a member of the Southern Conference. Other SoCon schools include The Citadel, East Tennessee State, Furman, Mercer, UNC Greensboro, Samford, Chattanooga, Western Carolina and Wofford.
•Current SoCon members ETSU, Mercer and Samford are former members of the ASUN Conference. Mercer was a charter member of the league.
•Friday's home game with VMI marks the first time in six seasons (2012) the Hatters have spent Thanksgiving in DeLand. In the years since, Stetson has visited Fort Myers; Greeley, Colo,; Las Vegas, Savannah, Ga.; and Mobile, Ala.
