Hatters Fall at Duke

Stetson's Abayomi Iyiola scored a team-high 19 points but the Hatters were overwhelmed in a 113-49 loss at No. 3 Duke, Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
 
Iyiola was 8 of 15 from the field and grabbed 5 rebounds. Christiaan Jones was the only other Hatter to score in double figures, finishing with 12 points.
 
Stetson (1-8) led, 12-11, at the first media timeout but it was all Duke from there. The Blue Devils (7-1) responded to the early deficit by finishing the half on a 48-13 run, and led 59-25 at halftime.
 
The Blue Devils placed six players in double figures. R.J. Barrett scored 26, while Cam Reddish had 23. Zion Williamson (17), Alex O'Connell (13), Justin Robinson (13), and Javin DeLaurier (10) each reached double digits.
 
Kenny Aninye turned in a solid performance for the Hatters with 8 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
 
The Hatters were limited to 32.3 percent shooting, while the Blue Devils shot 58 percent. Duke out-rebounded Stetson, 52-31.
