Korac, Ashirova, Geurinckx Honored by ASUN

Stetson's Arijana Korac was named first-team All-ASUN Conference, and freshmen Danel Ashirova and Vicky Geurinckx earned All-Freshman Team honors as the ASUN announced its 2018 women's tennis award winners on Thursday night.
 
Korac, a senior, earns her second straight first-team all-conference honor after posting an 8-8 singles record this spring, with nearly all of her matches coming in the No. 1 position. The only senior on the team this year, Korac was 3-3 in ASUN play.
 
Ashirova joined the Hatters just prior to the start of the spring semester and settled into the No. 2 singles position as the season progressed. She sports a 5-8 singles mark, including a 5-5 record at No. 2 and a 3-3 ASUN record as the Hatters enter the postseason.
 
Geurinckx has been a force for the Hatters in the middle of the lineup, producing a 9-5 singles record this spring. She was 4-2 at both No. 3 and No. 4 singles, and posted a 3-3 conference record as well.
 
The Hatters enter the ASUN Tournament as the No. 4 seed and are scheduled to face No. 5 seed Kennesaw State, 2:30 p.m., Friday.
