Hatters Drop Series Finale at Kennesaw State

Lizzie Shubert hits home run No. 7.

Kennesaw, Ga. – Kennesaw State completed a three-game series sweep with a 9-1 victory over Stetson Sunday afternoon at Bailey Park.

Lizzie Shubert hit her team-leading seventh home run of the year for the Hatters (22-17), who fell to 2-7 in ASUN play.

Shubert became just the third Hatter freshman to hit seven home runs in a season.  Melissa Wiggins hit nine in 2003 and Courtney Brandt hit eight in 2012.

Linda Ross led the Hatters with a pair of hits including a double down the right field line.  She leads the team with a .400 batting average in conference play.

Alexa Solorzano and Maddie Roth each recorded two hits and scored two runs to lead the Owls (28-13, 8-1). 

Stetson will step out of conference play to host FIU Wednesday at 6 p.m.
