Tyler Packanik Joins Baseball Staff as Director of Player Personnel

Stetson University baseball coach Steve Trimper announced today the addition of Tyler Packanik to his staff. Tyler will serve as Director of Player Personnel and Video Coordinator for the Hatters' baseball program.

"We are very excited to add Tyler to our coaching staff for the upcoming year," Trimper said. "He brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and energy to our program. His new role will not only benefit our players, aiding in all academic and community engagement areas, but also bring a top-level person to assist in scouting and video analysis. He will undoubtedly help us reach our goals and be successful."

A native of Plant City, Fla., Packanik played collegiate baseball at Marietta College in Ohio where he was an All-Conference Tournament performer in 2015. He received a bachelor's degree in Marketing in 2016 and went on from there to earn a Master's in Coaching Education from Ohio University in 2017.

Packanik started his professional career working with the baseball program at Ohio University where he assisted with the outfielders and hitters in addition to using the ISCORE system to track games, detail pitch patterns and develop spray charts. He also was involved in the evaluation of prospects in the recruiting process through video and worked as a camp instructor.

He served as an assistant coach for the Edenton Steamers in the Coastal Plain League during the summer of 2017 before spending the 2017-18 academic year as a volunteer assistant coach at Bucknell University.

While at Bucknell, he coached the infielders and assisted with the hitters. He coached first base during games and managed the defensive alignment of the infielders. Off the field he handled the ordering of equipment, managed the Arms recruiting database, managed the use of FlightScope and also created scouting reports based on video analysis from Synergy.

"I am extremely grateful to Coach Trimper for giving me this opportunity," Packanik said. "I couldn't be happier to be back in my home state and to be a part of the Stetson Hatters community. Coach Trimper has put together a great staff and I am looking forward to learning from some of the best coaches in college baseball."
