Two of the hottest teams in the ASUN Conference square off Saturday when the Stetson Hatters host the FGCU Eagles.  Tip-off at the Edmunds Center is set for 1 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.

The Hatters (13-11, 8-2) have won six straight and 12 out of 15 heading into Saturday's showdown with the first-place Eagles (20-4, 11-0).  FGCU has won 11 in row overall and 18 straight games against ASUN opponents dating back to last year.

"FGCU will be our biggest test yet, but our mindset is in a really good spot right now," junior Addi Walters said.  "We need to focus on our team defense and respond to any Eagle runs."

FGCU and Stetson rank as the top two defensive teams in the league, with both squads averaging under 60 points-per-game allowed.

"We obviously have to play well on both ends, but I have always said you have to find a way to score against them," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "Certainly taking care of the basketball is going to be a big key to the game.  We have done a better job of that of late, but you still have to find a way to score."

The Hatters are allowing just 54.0 points-per-game during their win streak, including a 46-point defensive effort in Tuesday's 54-46 victory over the Dolphins.  Stetson is tied with North Alabama for second place in the ASUN standings, just two games back of FGCU with two head-to-head games remaining.  The teams will meet again on March 5 in Fort Myers.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are holding ASUN opponents to just 50.2 ppg.  FGCU is coming off a 61-42 win over NJIT Tuesday at Alico Arena.  Offensively, the Eagles average 10.9 3-pointers and 77.3 points-per-game.

"We have to match their effort and energy, but we can't try and play their style of play," Bria said.  "We have to play our tempo and execute our defense and our offense."

Tickets start at just $7 for general admission and can be purchased online or at the Edmunds Center box office.  Stetson students, faculty and staff are admitted free with an ID.

Stetson SAAC will be collecting diapers, wipes, and other infant and toddler supplies during Saturday's basketball doubleheader.  Donations will benefit the families served by The Neighborhood Center in DeLand.

In addition to the ESPN+ broadcast, live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.
