Hatters Fall at Arizona State

Arizona State downed Stetson, 11-3, in lacrosse action on Sunday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz.
 
The Sun Devils (2-1) held the Hatters scoreless in the first half and led, 6-0, at halftime.
 
The Hatters (0-3) finally got on the board less than 90 seconds into the second half when Taylor Zuberer scored her sixth goal of the season to make it 6-1. But by the time Stetson scored again, Arizona State had already put the game away.
 
Following Zuberer's score, the Sun Devils ripped off five consecutive goals. Riley Reagan stopped the run with her third goal of the season with 6:22 to play, and freshman Saige-Lyn Gidzinski scored her first collegiate goal with 36 seconds to play for the final 11-3 margin.
 
Arizona State's Kerri Clayton and Maddy Hunter each scored three goals to lead the Sun Devils.
 
Stetson goalie Kiera McCarthy made 12 saves while facing 29 shots. Sarah Flatt had three draw controls.
 
The Hatters next host Fresno State, 11 a.m., Sunday, March 3 at the Athletic Training Center in DeLand.
