Since becoming eligible in mid-December, sophomore forward Day'Neshia Banks has played a significant role in the Hatters' second half surge.  Overall, Banks has scored in double figures 15 times, including a streak of 12 straight games with 13 or more points.  Her 15.2 ppg scoring average leads the team and ranks fifth in the ASUN, and she ranks second in the league in scoring in conference play (17.2 ppg).

Banks has stepped up her game even more as of late, averaging 20.2 points and 8.4 rebounds in the last five games.  That includes a career-high 25-point performance Tuesday night against UNF, plus 20-point games vs. Jacksonville and NJIT.  She narrowly missed her her third straight double-double Tuesday night.

As her production has increased, so has the amount of attention and double teams she has received from opposing defenses.

"I think she handles it well," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "She does a really good job of creating something. Sometimes she splits them, and when she doesn't have it, she kicks it out."

Banks and the Hatters will visit the Kennesaw State Owls at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the KSU Convocation Center.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Hatters (15-13, 10-4 ASUN) would clinch the No. 2 seed for the ASUN Championship with any of the following scenarios:

(1) two Stetson wins
(2) one Stetson win and one North Alabama loss
(3) one Stetson win, one Liberty win over NJIT (Sat.), and one NJIT win over UNF (Tue.)
(4) two North Alabama losses
(5) two Liberty wins

The Hatters lead the all-time series 27-4 over Kennesaw State, including a 76-69 win in DeLand on Feb. 2.  McKenna Beach scored a career-high 37 points in that contest.

"Defensively, we have to guard," Bria said.  "We have to keep rebounding and limit our turnovers."

Kamiyah Street leads the the Owls (8-19, 4-10) and the ASUN in scoring (16.7 ppg).

In addition to the ESPN+ broadcast, live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.
