Hatters Drop a Pair to UCF

Kasey Fava Makes Two Sensational Catches in RF

DeLand, Fla. -- UCF swept a doubleheader from Stetson Saturday, winning by scores of 9-1 and 6-1 at Patricia Wilson Field.

Molly McLaughlin hit a solo home run in game one for the Hatters, who fell to 8-16.

The Knights improved to 19-8.

Ashly Smith went 2-for-4 at the plate while Elizabeth Jackson also had two hits, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored.  Danielle Diaz and McLaughlin each drove in runs.  Holli Jones hit her first career double.

Tori Perkins and Curstin Taylor split game one in the circle while Jaime Tino went the distance in game two.  Five defensive errors on the day led to 11 unearned runs.

Kasey Fava made two highlight-reel catches in right field and Riley Russell made one diving catch in center.  All three catches came with runners in scoring position.

The Hatters will host Princeton at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the final non-conference tune-up before the start of ASUN play.  The games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
