Hatters Fall to FGCU

Stetson men's tennis came out on the short end of an ASUN Conference battle with FGCU, falling 6-1 to the Eagles on Saturday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
 
A match which lasted nearly four hours featured four, three-set matches. Though the Hatters fought hard, Stetson (9-9 overall, 1-2 ASUN) came out on the short end of each one.
 
Stetson opened play by dropping the doubles point as FGCU claimed victories on Courts 3 and 1.
 
In singles play, only Antoine Sanchez posted a win for the Hatters. The sophomore posted a 6-3, 6-2 win on Court 3.
 
Louis Gorregues, Tim Gennes, Coilin MacNamara and Christian Mills each pushed their opponents to a third set before falling.
 
The Hatters continue ASUN play when they visit Liberty, Thursday, April 4 in Lynchburg, Va.
