The Stetson women's basketball team has been on a bit of roller coaster ride through the first 30 games of the 2018-19 season. After a 1-8 start, the Hatters won 15 of their next 21 to earn the No. 2 seed for the ASUN Championship, which starts Friday night against No. 7 seed Kennesaw State.

"I'm excited.  I think we are all just ready at this point," sophomore Kendall Lentz said.  "We were just reflecting on the season and thinking that we've come such a long way. We feel like we have some momentum going into the tournament.  Obviously its a one-game season, so we are really just focusing all our effort and energy on Kennesaw State."

The Hatters (16-14) will host the Owls (8-21) in the ASUN quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Friday at the Edmunds Center.  The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Stetson swept the season series from Kennesaw State, including a 58-45 win in Kennesaw this past Saturday.

"I think if they get going offensively, they can be hard to guard," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said about KSU.  "They have (good) inside-outside play and balance in their scoring, so we have to guard. We have to play four quarters. We cannot have a quarter like we had (Tuesday).  The rebounding is going to be a key, too.  They are a great rebounding team."

It will be the fifth all-time postseason meeting between the Hatters and Owls.  Stetson has won the previous four tournament matchups.

The winner will advance to the semifinal round on Wednesday.  The ASUN Championship will be held on March 17 with the winner receiving the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Tickets are on sale (GoHatters.com/tix) and can be purchased for $10 for general admission and $12 for reserved seats.  Tickets for youth (3-17) and ASUN students (with valid ID) are $5.  The first 200 Stetson students will be admitted free with ID.

In addition to the ESPN+ broadcast, live stats, the Stetson women's basketball twitter feed, and the HatCheck text messaging service will provide live updates as well.
