Hatters Drop Series Opener 8-0 to UNF

Game 2 Halted in the Fourth Inning

DeLand, Fla. -- UNF won the first game of a scheduled ASUN doubleheader 8-0 over Stetson Saturday afternoon at Patricia Wilson Field.

Game 2 was halted in the bottom of the fourth inning due to lightning and will resume Sunday at 10 a.m.  The Ospreys (24-22, 6-12 ASUN) lead the second game 2-0.  

The series finale originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday will now begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.  The Hatters (16-29, 5-13 ASUN) will need to win both games Sunday to clinch a berth in the ASUN tournament.

Stetson honored seniors Ashly Smith, Tori Perkins, Holli Jones, Talli Sharp, Amanda Nikhazy and Curstin Taylor prior to the game.

Riley Russell had two hits for the Hatters.
