Singles Play Leads Hatters Past Oakland

Stetson women's tennis edged Oakland, 4-3, on Thursday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
 
The Hatters (6-4) won for the fifth time in their last six matches, rallying to take four of six singles matches after starting the day with a loss in doubles.
 
Oakland (4-3) earned the doubles point by gaining wins on Courts 1 and 2. Stetson's duo of Vicky Geurinckx and Noa Cohen earned a 7-6 win on Court 3, but that came moments after the Golden Grizzlies clinched the team point.
 
Brooke Milner was the first to the finish line in singles for the Hatters, grabbing a 6-2, 6-3 win on Court 2. Lucie Renault followed Milner with a 6-1, 6-2 win on Court 3 as Stetson took a 2-1 lead.
 
Cohen gave the Hatters a 3-1 lead with a 6-2, 7-6 (2) win on Court 4, and Laia Pasini clinched the match for Stetson with a 7-5, 6-4 win on Court 6.
 
The Hatters next travel to the Aloha State for a pair of matches during Spring Break. The Hatters will face Chaminade on Monday, March 2, and Hawai'i on Wednesday, March 4.
