A trio of Stetson Hatters earned recognition on the 2021 Pioneer Football League All-Conference team, the league announced today.
Â
Senior defensive end
Fermon Reid, who led the Hatters with six sacks and seven quarterback hurries this season, was named to the All-PFL first team for the second time. The Naples, Fla., native was also an All-PFL selection for the spring season in addition to being a second team All-PFL pick in 2019.
Â
Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman
Billy Corte was named to the All-PFL second team. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Corte was also a first team All-PFL selection during the spring season.
Â
Freshman receiver
Nazeviah Burris earned his first All-PFL recognition. A native of Union, SC, Burris was named to the All-PFL second team after recording 28 receptions for 364 yards and four touchdowns in just eight games this fall. He set a Stetson single-game record with four TD receptions in on game against eventual league champion Davidson.
Â
With the three selections, Stetson has now had 16 first team All-PFL picks and 19 second round All-PFL selections in nine seasons of play in the league. Reid and Corte are the seventh and eighth players in program history to earn All-PFL recognition twice. Reid is just the third player in program history to be named All-PFL three or more times, joining with JJ Henderson (2017, 2018, 2019) and Donald Payne (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).
Â
In addition to the trio of players named first or second team, the Hatters also had nine players selected as honorable mention All-PFL. That group included redshirt freshman tight end
Dominic Carlucci (Raleigh, NC), senior linebacker
Majeste' Hansberry (Atlanta, Ga.), redshirt freshman defensive tackle
Josh Hughes (Keystone Heights, Fla.), linebacker
Ethan Hull (Crestwood, Ky.), redshirt sophomore defensive back
Rassie Littlejohn (Gainesville, Ga.), redshirt junior receiver
Jalen Mason (Fort Pierce, Fla.), redshirt sophomore safety
