DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University men's basketball team continues is three-game homestand
Monday night as the Hatters host Johnson University for a non-conference contest. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
Â
Recap
Stetson comes off its fourth loss in a row as the Hatters fell to Ohio University 55-45 Saturday night at the Edmunds Center. Rob Perry led all scorers on the night as the junior tallied 17 points and added two assists. Christiaan
Jones recorded eight points of his own while Josh Smith brought down 11 boards.Â

Scouting the Suns
Johnson University enters Monday's game with a 3-7 overall record and 2-0 in conference. After winning two in a row in the middle of November, the Suns have dropped four straight dropping a 74-69 contest to Florida National on Dec. 3 and then most recently, falling 73-65 to Keiser
University on Dec. 11.Â
Â
All-Time Series
The Hatters and the Suns have met only one time as Stetson leads the all-time series 1-0. The only meeting between the two schools came back on Nov. 7, 2018, as the Hatters topped the Suns 116-66 at home.Â
Â
Hatters Keys to Success
Stetson enters Monday's contest with a 2-6 overall record as the Hatters have dropped four in a row dating back to Nov. 27.
Â
To end the losing streak, the Hatters must play better in the first half. Stetson has been outscored 282 to 200 in the first half this season, but then has outscored its opponents 292 to 271 in the second half. If they can put two complete halves together, the Hatters are dangerous.Â
Â
Like the team, if Perry can put together two complete halves, Stetson could turn things around as the Orlando native has put together multiple second half double-digit scoring efforts after posting single digits in the first half.Â
Looking Ahead
After its bout with Johnson, Stetson concludes its homestand
on Thursday, Dec. 16 as the Hatters host College of Charleston at 7 p.m. The Hatters then hit the road to visit Miami on Monday, Dec. 20 before returning to the Edmunds Center for two games against Piedmont and Point University to close out the calendar year.Â
