The Stetson baseball team will play its first road game of the season tonight at UCF's John Euliano Park. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Â
Coming off a weekend sweep of Florida A&M, the Hatters will be looking to get to 5-0 start, matching the 2018 club, and will be going for a second straight win at UCF after downing the Knights (1-2) last February 18 by a score of 6-5.
Â
Redshirt sophomore
Bret Neilan will make his season debut on the mound for Stetson, but the Hatters are expected to use a number of pitchers in the game. UCF has not announced a starting pitcher for the game.
Â
The Hatters will return to Melching Field this weekend for another four-game series, this time against ASUN rival North Alabama. The games against the Lions will not count in the ASUN standings this year. UNA will be making its season debut after having its opening weekend of play canceled by the winter storm that blanketed much of the country in ice and snow last week.
Â
After allowing only parents and family members into Melching Field for the opening series, Stetson is expected to open the gates for more fans to attend the games this coming weekend. Look for further announcements on attendance for all Stetson Athletics events in the coming days.
