Hatters Fall to Northern Arizona in Season Finale

Frankfort, Ky. -- The 2020-21 season finale came all the way down to wire, but Northern Arizona held off Stetson for a 51-48 victory Sunday night in the WBI 3rd-place game at the William Exum Center.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Hatters (10-15) and Lumberjacks (15-14) saw the lead change hands 13 times including six lead changes in the fourth quarter alone.  Olivia Moran's bucket gave NAU the lead for good with 2:16 to go.

Yazz Wazeerud-Din led the Hatters with 16 points.  Maddie Novak and Jamiya Turner scored 10 points apiece.  Turner, who had two double-doubles in the three games, was named to the WBI all-tournament team.

Moran scored 13 points to lead the Lumberjacks.

The Hatters finished the 2020-21 season with a 10-15 record and their 10th postseason appearance in the past 11 years.  Stetson set a school record with 6.9 3-pointers made per game.
