Hatters Fall in ASUN Matchup at Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. -- Quinn Roe and Marina Rotella each netted a pair of goals, but 10th-ranked Jacksonville held off Stetson for a 21-7 ASUN Conference victory Saturday afternoon at D.B. Milne Field.

With her two tallies, Rotella became the sixth player in Stetson history to record 100 career points.

The Hatters (0-4, 0-2) locked up in a good defensive battle with the Dolphins (6-0, 1-0) throughout the first half. Neither team produced a goal for the first eight minutes until Camden Frissora broke through for Stetson at the 21:48 mark.  Jacksonville scored the next three goals, but Rotella's first marker of the game with 14:00 to go in the half sliced JU's lead to 3-2.

The Dolphins led 7-2 when Roe and Jacklyn Lavoie tallied back-to-back goals to pull the Hatters within three.  Roe scored her second goal late in the first half as JU led 10-5 at the break.

Rotella and Taylor Zuberer scored Stetson's lone tallies in the second half.  Zuberer added two assists for a team-high three points.

In goal, Kiera McCarthy made 11 saves and Sydney Heimann made two saves for the Hatters.

Sarah Elms led the Dolphins with five goals.

The Hatters will return to action on April 16 at Wofford.
