Marina Rotella Breaks the School Goal-Scoring Record

Kennesaw, Ga. -- Senior Marina Rotella scored four goals, including her school-record 90th career goal, but Jacksonville defeated Stetson 21-6 in the ASUN Lacrosse Championship semifinals Thursday afternoon at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The top-seeded and 17th-ranked Dolphins (10-1) advance to Saturday's ASUN Championship contest to face the Liberty-Kennesaw State winner at 1 p.m.

Jacksonville broke away early, scoring the first 12 goals of the game.  Stetson's lone goal in the first half came from Rotella at the 7:27 mark. JU led 15-1 at the break.

Stetson (1-8) battled back in the second half, outscoring Jacksonville 5-1 during one stretch.  Jessica Duggan and Camden Frissora tallied Stetson's first two goals of the period.

Rotella's second goal of the game and record-setting 90th career goal came with 13:55 to go.  She surpassed Taylor Patrizi's mark of 89 goals which had stood since 2018.

Rotella went on to score twice more, becomming the fourth Hatter to record a postseason hat trick and the first Hatter to score four goals in a postseason game.  She finished her career as the school record holder in goals (92) and goals-per-game (2.19).

Riley Reagan completed her career as the school's all-time leader in assists (96), assists-per-game (2.0), and points-per-game (3.06).
