For the second consecutive year, Stetson's Andrew MacNeil has been recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as an Academic All-American.
 
MacNeil is just the second player in Stetson Baseball history to be named to the Academic All-America squad more than once. Fellow baseball standout Chris Westervelt was a two-time Academic All-America selection, earning the honor in 2002 and again in 2004.

Joe Beery also earned multiple Academic All-America honors as a member of the Stetson Cross Country team.
 
MacNeil completed his five years as a student-athlete at Stetson with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. A Gainesville, Fla., native, MacNeil received his Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology in 2020 and spent the 2021 academic working toward an MBA. He will enroll in medical school at the University of Florida this fall. 
 
MacNeil was a second team All-ASUN selection this past spring after posting a career-best .310 batting average during the 2021 campaign. He led the Hatters, and ranking among the NCAA leaders, with 61 runs scored. MacNeil had 27 extra-base hits with 16 doubles, four triples and seven home runs, and he drove in 33 runs. He finished with a .551 slugging percentage and, with 27 walks and 15 times hit by pitch, he posted a .435 on-base percentage.
 
He finished his career tied with Patrick Mazeika for the most times hit by pitch with 48. Over five seasons at Stetson, MacNeil played in 208 games, starting 172, and he finished with 165 hits.
