Hatters Down Daytona State in Exhibition Opener

DeLand, Fla. -- In the first of two exhibition matches this week, Stetson earned a 4-1 victory over Daytona State Monday night at the Athletic Training Center.

"I was really impressed with the overall team effort," Stetson head coach Chris Bergmann said.  "The energy, the enthusiasm, the fight, the attack were really evident this evening. It was an overall team effort. We accomplished what we wanted to accomplish which was to get better today."

Four different Hatters scored goals as Stetson controlled a majority of the play.

"We were very forward-minded and so we had a lot of different people getting in on goal and creating opportunities.  It was great to see different people step up at different throughout the game. It was a fun thing to watch tonight."

Stetson will travel to Georgia State to face the Panthers at 7 p.m. Thursday.
