Fall Fundraiser Challenge Reaches All-Time High

Stetson Athletics held its fourth annual Fall Fundraising campaign in mid October and, now that the numbers have been tallied, the Hatters officially smashed their record for total money raised and nearly matched the previous record of total number of donors.

The fall campaign charges each of Stetson's Athletics programs to raise funds during a week-long period, with all of the money raised by each program going back into that teams' budget to support operations, to purchase equipment, or to help cover travel costs.

The campaign was first held during the fall of 2019, with the teams combining to raise more than $150,000! In 2020, despite their being no athletic competition because of the COVID pandemic, the programs smashed that mark, surpassing $200,000 in donations. In 2021, the teams blew the expectations out of the water and raised over $340,000 when the goal was to match or surpass the previous year's numbers.

The goal for this fall was to reach $280,000 to provide a realistic goal due to the success of the previous, but the teams said we can do even better and really made a difference.

Thanks to the efforts of the coaches, student-athletes and staff, the 2022 Fall Fundraising Campaign pulled in over $385,000. That amazing total came from just 620 total donors, many of which made contributions to multiple programs. Overall, the campaign received 730 gifts over the course of the Fall Fundraiser Campaign. This amazing contribution was provided during a difficult time in the state of Florida as the campaign was originally scheduled for the beginning of October but had to be pushed back due to Hurricane Ian. We are truly thankful for all of our supporters that were still able to contribute during this tough time and our hearts and prayers go out to those who weren't as fortunate during this time.
