DELAND, Fla. – In a Wednesday morning match at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center, the Stetson University women's tennis team won its fourth straight match and improved to 9-0 at home with a 6-1 victory over the visiting UNC Greensboro Spartans.Â
The Hatters (11-1) started the day earning the doubles point, as the No. 2 doubles pair of Nadejda Maslova and Cheri Darley won their match 6-3 and No. 3 doubles pair Noa Cohen and Anais Gabriel downed their opponents 6-2.
Five of the six singles matches were won by the Hatters in straight sets with Cohen earning the second point of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Alanna DiFrancesco continued her unbeaten season with a 6-4, 6-1 win and is now 11-0 in 2022.
Wednesday's clinching point was secured with No. 2 Gabriel's 6-4, 6-2 win, while Laia Pasini (6-2, 6-4) and Elodie Foster (6-2, 6-3) finished out their matches with wins as well.
The Hatters will take a week off before heading back to the court to face the University of North Florida on Sunday, March 20. The match at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center will start at 11 am.
