Hatters to host series of summer clinics

DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University men's soccer team will host three ID Camps this summer beginning with the first one on June 11-12, July 8-9, and Aug. 6-7 at the Athletic Training Center on the Stetson University campus.

The camp is designed to evaluate high school level players and possible transfers who intend to play at the NCAA Division I level. Prospective players from grades 9-12 as well as college transfers are encouraged to attend.

"Our ID Camps have been a great way to instruct, develop, recruit, and learn about prospective student athletes that fit our program and Stetson University," said Hatters head coach Emmett Rutkowski of his camp experience. "I aspire to create a great experience for campers and provide insight into our program and the level of commitment it requires to be a Hatter."

Each camp will be limited to 50 participants in order to maximize exposure for every individual. There will be a morning camp and an afternoon camp running on both days. With each camp, there will be a training session run by the Hatters soccer coaching staff, small games, 11v11 matches, and a college recruitment talk with a Q&A. All sessions will take place at the ATC.

The camp will not provide overnight accommodations, but lunch will be provided to campers on both days of the camp.

Fourteen of the current Stetson Hatters men's soccer team have been identified through Stetson ID camps and head coach Rutkowski and his staff are looking for the next Hatters. The camp will include Division I level training sessions, talks with current players and the coaching staff, and competitive 11 v 11 matches filmed and recorded for attendees to keep.
