DeLand, Fla. -- The Stetson University lacrosse team dropped its sixth game in a row Saturday afternoon as the Hatters fell 26-3 to No. 15 Jacksonville at the ATC.
The Hatters (3-10, 0-3 ASUN) fell behind early as the 15th-ranked Dolphins got out to a 5-0 lead within the first 5:00 of action. Katie Kornacki cut into the early deficit as she found the back of the net to put Stetson on the board with 7:47 left in the opening quarter. JU then went on a 7-0 run until Saige Roe netted the Hatters second goal in the 2nd. JU held the Hatters to just two goals over the first 30:00 and led 17-2 heading into the break.
Out of the intermission, the Hatters defense continued to have trouble stopping the JU offense as the Dolphins put up five more goals in the 3rd quarter. Roe found nylon for a second time on the afternoon for her sixth multi-goal effort of the season, but it was not enough as Stetson was held off the board in the 4th while JU scored four more times to end the contest.
The Hatters will be back in action on Tuesday, April 19 as Stetson hosts Delaware State University at the ATC. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
