LYNCHBURG Va. - In its final regular season ASUN match of the 2022 season, the Stetson University men's tennis team lost to 72nd-ranked Liberty, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Liberty Tennis Complex. The Hatters now turn their attention to the 2022 ASUN Men's Tennis Championship that starts next Friday, April 22.
Liberty (10-10, 6-2 ASUN) started the day by winning the doubles' point and then picked up the first two singles points to take a 3-0 lead.
On Court 6,
Sami Ozzor won his fifth straight match and improved to 11-1 with a straight-set victory, including a 7-3 win in a second-set tiebreak to make it 3-1.
Liberty was able to put the final three matches, including two that went to three sets, in its win column to finish off the day.Â
Stetson (11-9, 4-4 ASUN) will head to Fort Myers, Florida for the ASUNÂ tournament as the fifth seed and will face the fourth seed in a first-round match at 5 p.m. on Friday.
