Stetson University women's basketball head coach
Lynn Bria has added veteran assistant coach Liberty Del Rosario to her staff.
Del Rosario, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is a graduate of Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio, where she was a two-year letter winner. She began her playing career at Columbus State Community College
Del Rosario served last season as an assistant coach at Barry University in Miami Shores, helping guide the Bucs to a 16-10 record and the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
"I've known Liberty for a long time," Bria said. "She is an incredible person to have on our staff. Her recruiting experience and knowledge will be a tremendous asset to our program. "
An experienced and seasoned professional at many levels of collegiate coaching, Del Rosario has appeared in four NCAA Division I national tournaments plus the WNIT, NAIA and Division II tournaments. In addition to team accomplishments, Del Rosario has also assisted in tremendous individual development for her athletes, highlighted by the five league player-of-the-year awards her pupils have claimed across the seven different conferences in which she has coached.
Prior to Barry, Del Rosario was an assistant coach at East Tennessee State (2020-21), where she helped mentor Jakhya Davis and Carlyse Hooks, members of the Southern Conference All-Rookie Team. Prior to ESTU, she was the WBCA Division II National Assistant Coach of the Year at Virginia Union (2018-19), where she helped lead the Panthers to the CIAA regular season and tournament titles, before making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
Other stops in her coaching career have included Agnes Scott College (2020-21), Niagara University (2015-18), Winthrop University (2012-15), Eastern Michigan University (2011-12), Morgan State University (2010-11), Cleveland State University (2006-10) and her alma mater, Notre Dame College (2002-06).
Del Rosario graduated from Notre Dame College with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2002 and later earned a master's degree in education with a specialization in sports management from Cleveland State in 2005. She is a 15-year member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and nine-year member of the Asian Coaches Association.
In addition to Del Rosario, the Stetson women's basketball program also added Brooke Fogarty as Director of Basketball Operations. Fogarty, who started her position in June, came to Stetson from the University of Alabama where she served as a student manager for the women's basketball program.
A native of Brea, Calif., Fogarty was a Cum Laude graduate in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources and a minor in Creative Media. She was a student manager for the Crimson Tide's women's basketball program for four years, helping with practice and game set up, team logistics, travel operations, recruiting and statistical analysis.
In addition to her duties in Tuscaloosa, Fogarty spent her summers in Tempe, Ariz., and Anaheim, Calif., running basketball camps. She also worked for a real estate office in San Diego helping create social media content and optimize marketing efforts.
Del Rosario, Fogarty and the rest of the Stetson women's basketball team will depart this weekend for a summer trip abroad to Costa Rica. The Hatters will play a pair of exhibition games in San Juan while also performing community service activities with Samaritan's Feet and with a basketball clinic. The players and staff will also enjoy some team building activities including visits to the La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Sanctuary, a jungle canopy zip-lining tour as well as some shopping and time at the beach.
