Baseball Sets Fall Schedule

The Stetson baseball program has set its fall schedule, which will include weekly intra-squad scrimmages and a pair of fall games against outside competition.

With renovations ongoing at Melching Field, the Hatters will conduct all of their fall practice sessions and scrimmages at the Sperling Sports Complex in DeLand.

The team will begin full team practices on Monday, October 10, and will play their first intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, October 15, at 11 a.m. Scrimmages will then be held each Thursday and Friday at 3:30 p.m. and each Saturday at 11 a.m.

The two exhibition games scheduled for the fall will be on October 29 at South Florida and November 6 at Florida. The Hatters and Bulls will have a combined scout day on the 29th prior to their game.

Fall practice is scheduled to run through the weekend of November 10-12, which will be the Hatter World Series.

Coach Steve Trimper and his coaching staff brought in 21 new players for the 2023 season, which will be his seventh in DeLand. The Hatters are slated to open the newly renovated Melching Field on Friday, February 17, 2023.
