DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson lacrosse team earned its first at home victory of the 2023 season, Saturday at the ATC. The Hatters (1-2) got out to a 1-0 lead after a goal from
Sam King at the 11:24 mark.
Jessica Duggan continued to add pressure when she scored at the 4:51 mark with an assist from
Camden Frissora. The Hatter offense continued to pounce when
Jordyn Humphrey netted a goal, giving Stetson a 3-0 lead.
It wasn't long after until Haley Bolton knotted a goal for the Colonials at the 1:14 mark. Halfway into the second, the Hatter offense demanded unstoppable. Within two minutes,
Jordyn Humphrey netted two more goals along with a score from and
Kaitlin Pani. Humphrey kept her foot on the gas with another powerhouse goal at 6:45 left on the clock with an assist credited to
Molly Kearney.
The third saw scores from
Aine Williams,
Sara Freeman, and
Kaitlin Pani for her second of the night. In the fourth, the Colonials controlled the majority of the quarter but the Hatter defense was locked it down and had multiple stops It wasn't until 1:48 left in the game when
Katie Kornacki and
Camden Frissora both put up scores to end the match at 12-7.
The Hatters will look to continue their success when they host Duquesne at home on Monday, February 27.
