Hatters Complete Midweek Sweep, Down Siena 10-3

DeLand, Fla. -- Stetson scored runs in each of the first five innings and cruised to a 10-3 victory over visiting Siena Wednesday night at Melching Field.

Brandon Hylton hit his third home run of the season and Brendan Walker earned his first career victory on the mound as the Hatters (6-3) completed a sweep of the two-game midweek series with the Saints (0-9).

Stetson pounded out 13 hits in the game, including five for extra bases. Hilton hit a  rocket out to right in the bottom of the second to give Stetson a 2-0 lead. He then added a two-run triple in the third to make it 4-0.

Yohann Dessureault had a perfect night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with 3 RBI. Lorenzo Meola registered a double, triple, and a run scored. Cameron Hill added two hits and two runs scored.

Making his first career start, Walker filled up the zone all night. The freshman right-hander worked 5.2 innings, allowing just one run on four hits. He fanned nine and threw 71 percent of his pitches for strikes. Walker retired 14 in a row during one stretch.

Stetson drew a season-high 10 walks.

The Hatters will welcome Mount St. Mary's and Pitt to Melching Field this weekend for an early season tournament. The schedule of games is as follows:
