DeLand, Fla. – Stetson graduate student
Anais Gabriel (Geneva, Switzerland) was named ASUN Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. This is Gabirel's second all time selection.
Gabriel went 2-0 on Thursday evening on court two against then ranked #70 FGCU 6-2, 6-4. Then on Sunday Gabriel won again on court two in singles play against Kennesaw State 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.
Anais Gabriel is a perfect 8-0 at the #2 and 12-3 overall on the season helping guide Stetson to a 4-0 ASUN Conference record.
"Anais played awesome last week. Most importantly though, this award is a team effort. We have had a lot of different players each week, step up and win big matches this season. To get acknowledged this week is a sign of hard work paying off," said Stetson head coach
Travis Sandlant.
The Hatters will be back in action on Friday March 31 at 11:00 a.m. in Clarksville, Tennessee against Austin Peay.
