Stetson Drops Season Finale to Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. – Stetson (8-9, 1-6) would fall to Jacksonville (10-7, 6-1) 7 to 24 in the Hatters season finale.
 
Both teams were held scoreless until the 8:82 mark when Jacksonville would net the first goal of the afternoon. The Dolphins would net a total of five goals before Sam King would get the Hatters on the board at the 3:43 mark. Jacksonville would get another goal to make it six to one before Georgia Goering would score the second for the Hatters at the 1:13 mark. Sydney Heimann would make five saves in the quarter as the score would be 6-2 in favor of Jacksonville at the end of one.

The Dolphins would score four unanswered goals to start the second quarter before Samantha Paglino would net one for the Hatters to make the score 10-3 Dolphins. Stetson would allow four more goals before Goering would get her second of the game at the 4:43 mark. Goering's goal would be the final goal of the quarter for the Hatters as the score after two would be 16-4 with the Dolphins leading.
 
Stetson would hold Jacksonville to just three goals in the third quarter and net two of their own. Aine Williams would get her first goal of the game at the 12:07 mark. Kaitlin Pani would net her first as well at the 4:45 mark from a free position shot. Stetson would have three free position tries in the quarter and turn the Dolphins over three times as the score after three would be 19-6 with Jacksonville still leading.
 
Pani would start the fourth quarter off with goal for the Hatters at the 11:16 mark as she netted her second. Pani's goal would be the only one for the Hatters in the fourth as Stetson would have seven groundballs in the quarter and Jacksonville would score five more goals making the final 24-7 with the Dolphins claiming the victory.

The Stetson loss marks the end of the season for the Hatters as they finish seventh in the ASUN Conference standings, just outside the cut line for the ASUN Championship.
