DeLand, Fla. - The Hatters have released their 2023 fall schedule. Coach
Chris Bergmann enters his fifth season as the Hatters' head coach. He looks to lead the team to qualify for a spot in the ASUN tournament this fall.
"I'm extremely excited about our 2023 schedule," Bergmann said. "We have chosen to play top opponents from different conferences to prepare us to be our best in the ASUN. With our returners and incoming class, this group of talented student-athletes are special, and they desire to compete at the highest level. These matches will challenge us, and I can't wait to see this team compete. It's going to be a great season!!!"
The Hatters will start off by playing a pair of exhibition games. The first of the two will be against USF on August 10 at home before the Hatters travel to Boca Raton to take on the Owls of FAU on August 13. The regular season opener for Stetson will be on August 17 as the University of Miami Hurricanes come to DeLand for a 5:00pm game. The rest of the three-game home stand brings both Air Force and Charleston Southern to town. The match against Air Force will be on August 20 at 1:00pm and is the Fall Kickoff with Focus. On August 24 at 5:00pm the Hatters will host a Community Day when they take on Charleston Southern.
The Hatters then have a two-game road trip on which they plan to seek redemption. On August 27 they will take on the University of Florida at 6:00pm. Following that, the Hatters will travel to Miami on August 31 to take on Florida International University.
Stetson will take on Green Bay for Donors Day on September 3
rd at noon. They will round out their non-conference schedule in Conway, South Carolina where they will take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on September 10
th at 1:00pm.
The Hatters will start conference matches on September 14 as they travel to Jacksonville to face Jacksonville University at 7:00pm. They will then come back to DeLand to face North Florida on September 17 at 6:00pm which will be the Faculty and Staff Celebration game.
Stetson will then go on a two-game road trip as they take on North Alabama on September 21 at 7:00pm and Central Arkansas on September 24 at 12:00pm.
The Hatters will then have a four-game home stand. They will take on Queens University on September 28 at 7:00pm which will be the Morgan's Message game. Morgan's Message highlights the importance of the mental health of student athletes. On October 1 they will play a match against Kennesaw State at 1:00pm for the Breast Cancer Awareness game. Family Weekend will be on October 5 at 7:00pm as the Hatters will take on Lipscomb who finished the season third last year in the standings with an 8-1-1 conference record. To finish up the home stand on October 8
th Stetson will play Austin Peay at 1:00pm which will be Senior Day.
Following those four games the Hatters will face Eastern Kentucky on October 12 at 4:00pm and Bellarmine on October 15
th at 1:00pm.
To round off the season the Hatters will face last year's ASUN Champions FGCU on October 21 at 5:00pm. The ASUN Championship is scheduled to begin on October 27.
Admission to the Hatters' home games at the ATC is $5 per person.
