DeLAND, Fla. – In their first home game since September 28, the Stetson Hatters battled to a 1-1 draw against the Central Arkansas Bears on Saturday night at the Athletic Training Center.
With the result and a point earned, Stetson moves to 4-4-4 overall and 3-0-2 in ASUN play, remaining the only undefeated team in the conference.
The Hatters broke the scoreless deadlock in the 41st minute when Maurice Hauser netted his fifth goal of the season. The play came off a quick counter-attack, with assists credited to Xavi Csato and Benjamin Donato, giving Stetson a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Central Arkansas leveled the match in the 77th minute, and despite late efforts from both sides, the 1-1 scoreline held through to the final whistle.
Graduate goalkeeper Nicolo Radaelli had a busy night, making six saves out of 13 total shots from the Bears. In a rare occurrence, Stetson was outshot 13-8, with the Hatters managing five shots on goal.
Stetson will now head to Nashville next Saturday for their final road match of the regular season as they face Lipscomb at 8:00 p.m.
