Women's Soccer Ends Season With Loss to FGCU

Fort Myers, Fla. – Stetson Women's Soccer finished off the season with a 2-0 loss to FGCU Saturday evening. Going into today's match the Hatters had to win to make it to the ASUN Championship along with a Jacksonville loss. 
 
Riley Tarvin earned her first start for the Hatters as Ashleigh Wise being out for today's match. Stetson took two shots early but the Eagles struck first, going up 1-0. The Hatters only tallied one more shot in the first half as they went into halftime trailing. 
 
The second half picked up in intensity as Stetson needed to score twice to get the victory. They tallied another three shots however, Florida Gulf Coast tacked on another goal. The Hatters were unable to find the back of the net falling 2-0.
 
Tarvin in her first collegiate start faced fifteen total shots, five of which were on goal and made three saves. Stella Comana, Georgia Place and Alyssa Stevens were the three Hatters that registered a shot on goal. 
 
The 2024 season for Stetson ends as the team finishes 8-11 overall with a 3-8 conference record.
