DELAND, FL - Stetson tennis student-athletes
Eder Blanco and
Cheri Darley have been selected to represent the ASUN Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championship, which takes place in Rome, Georgia November 7-10th.
Each NCAA AQ-eligible, Division I conference designated one singles player and one doubles team from each gender to participate. Hatters were chosen for both single spots as seniors Blanco and Darley received the nod.
Eder Blanco is in his second year as a Hatter after transferring to Stetson from Nort Carolina A&T. In the 2024 season Blanco compiled a 15-7 overall singles record, while going a perfect 7-0 in conference play earning him Second Team All-ASUN recognition. Eder partnered with
Ervin Haris Eminefendic to achieve an 11-7 overall record in doubles. The men's team made it to the conference finals in 2024, falling just short to UNF.
"Eder has had great fall results so far and is deserving of this selection. Looking forward to seeing him compete against the best and chase the opportunity to move on to the final phase of the NCAA tournament," Stetson men's head coach Christophe Noblet.
Cheri Darley is in her senior year as a Hatter and is looking to add even more to a standout career. Earlier this fall Darley earned one of Stetson's first ever victories at the ITA All-American Championship. Darley achieved First Team All-ASUN in 2024 going 12-7 in singles play, 6-2 in conference, in a season that ended in a conference championship for the Hatters. Darley was also a 2x player of the week in 2024. In her sophomore season Darley earned Third Team All-ASUN, as a freshmen received Second Team All-ASUN, All-Freshmen ASUN, and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team as the Hatters won the ASUN title.
" Cheri deserved this opportunity to represent the ASUN. She has had a very successful record in the conference during her time here. I look forward to her competing in Rome," Stetson women's head coach
Travis Sandlant.
