JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Stetson University women's basketball junior guard Cameron Thomas has been named ASUN Newcomer of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Thomas played a pivotal role in leading the Hatters to a 75-63 victory over Florida Atlantic last Tuesday night at the Insight Credit Union Arena. The standout transfer posted a season-high 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting, reaching double figures for the fifth time this season.

In addition to her scoring, Thomas was one rebound shy of a double-double, recording 9 rebounds, with 4 of those coming on the offensive glass. Her all-around performance helped the Hatters secure their third win of the season as they rise to a 3-2 record and a perfect 3-0 at home.

The ASUN Newcomer of the Week award is Thomas' first career honor and highlights her strong start to her Hatters career.

Stetson will return to action when they head to the shore for the Daytona Beach Classic, where they will face Bowling Green on Friday, Nov. 29 at 1:15 p.m. at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center.
