DeLAND, Fla. - The Stetson University women's basketball team saw their four game win streak come to an end on Saturday night as they fell to the Bellarmine Knights 64-52 at the Edmunds Center.
Despite leading 14-13 after the first quarter, a quarter in which they never trailed, the Hatters dropped the first leg of their extended homestand.
Leading the Hatters on offense was
Khamya McNeal, who finished with 11 points on 3-of-8 shooting from the field including a perfect 4-of-4 from the line. The redshirt-junior guard also pulled in six rebounds and hit a three-pointer.
Jamiya Turner also hit double-figures in the loss, providing 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting. It was her 15th time reaching 10 or more points in a game this season as she's hit double-figures in four of her last five games.
Four Hatters concluded the game with six points including sophomore forward
Jaelyn Talley. Talley, who leads the team in rebounding, pulled in nine boards, three of which were on offense.
Anna Kunzwiler finished with six points, as well, hitting a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter. She led the team in shooting from beyond the arc in the game, her second straight game with 2+ threes, and has now hit a team second-most three-pointers on the season.
Skylar Treadwell also hit a three-pointer in the third quarter on an assist from
Jordan Peete. Treadwell contributed five blocks off the bench while Peete made a name on defense with three steals.
On defense, the Hatters recorded four blocks with Kunzwiler, the freshman guard, blocking a pair of shots. This was her second game of the season with multiple blocks as she's blocked a team-high ten shots.
