DeLAND, Fla. - Stetson University's men's soccer team has unveiled their 2024 spring schedule, featuring a diverse lineup of opponents and thrilling matchups. After a 7-7-4 fall season culminating in reaching the ASUN Semifinals, including a notable victory against Jacksonville in the opening round, the Hatters are eager to continue their momentum into the spring.
The spring season begins with an exciting home fixture against Lakeland United FC, the reigning UPSL Florida West Premier Division 2023 Champions. This matchup will take place on Friday, February 9th, at 4:00 PM at the ATC in DeLand and will be open to the public. Notably, this marks the first spring match hosted by the Hatters since 2017. Stetson Men's Soccer extends their gratitude to Stetson Women's Lacrosse and Pete Webb, head of the grounds team, for making this opportunity possible.
Following the opener, the Hatters will travel to Kissimmee on February 20th to face MLS's Orlando City at 9:00 AM at their training facility. While this match is closed to the public, it presents a valuable opportunity for the team to challenge themselves against professional competition.
Returning home, Stetson will host Team Barca, an international opponent comprised of free agents and professional players, on February 28th at 5:00 PM at the ATC and is open to the public.
March brings a double-header for the Hatters as they head to Winter Park on March 24th to compete against Rollins and Southeastern. With two matches scheduled, fans can anticipate plenty of action and opportunities for player development. Both matches are open to the public, allowing supporters to cheer on the team in person.
On April 5th, Stetson will travel to Orlando for a highly anticipated rematch against their central Florida rival, UCF, at 5:00 PM. This follows their closely contested encounters in both the previous spring and fall seasons.
Wrapping up the spring season on April 6th, Stetson men's soccer will host a special match against Stetson Men's Soccer Alumni at the ATC at 10:00 AM. Fans are invited to witness Stetson soccer legends return to the pitch and face off against the current squad in what promises to be an exciting event that is open to the public.
