GAME NOTES
THE LEAD
Following their entry into conference play this past weekend, the Hatters will hit the road for a midweek matchup against the #19 Florida State Seminoles. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19 at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. This will be the second ranked opponent that Stetson has faced this season, last defeating #4 Florida 7-4 at home on Feb. 27.

INSIDE THE SERIES
In the long standing history between the two conference foes, Stetson trails in the series with a record of 26-67.
While they hold a 14-26 record at home, they trail 12-41 when playing on the road. The Hatters enter on a one game win streak against the Seminoles, having last met in a 6-0 home win on May 3, 2022 when Florida State was ranked #23. The series dates all the way back to April 22, 1949 when the Hatters dropped the inaugural game at home, 10-1. Over their 93 previous meetings, the Hatters have scored a total of 391 runs, 4.2 per game.

SCOUTING THE HATTERS (13-8, 1-2 ASUN)
Stetson approaches the midweek game coming off a series loss to Jacksonville over the weekend. Despite taking the first game on Friday, Stetson dropped the final two games as they fell to 13-8 on the season.

Freshman Kyle Jones is in the midst of an eight game hitting streak as he holds a .357 batting average and .489 OB%. Jones has tallied 25 hits in 70 at-bats this season, six of which have been extra base hits.

Lorenzo Meola and Logan Hughes each recorded three hits in the loss on Sunday while the former went 7 for 15 over the whole series.

Cueto launched his second homerun of the season on Sunday as he continues to pace the Hatters with 23 RBIs, third most in the conference. The junior catcher is batting .324 on the year with 10 extra base hits, including a team-leading seven doubles.

Yohann Dessureault has started all 21 games at second base, batting .329 with 23 hits. 12 of his hits have been extra base hits, including a team-leading seven homeruns. He has plated 19 runs while providing a .700 SLG%.

Anthony DeFabbia earned his fourth win of the season after a six strikeout performance over six innings in the win over Jacksonville on Friday.

SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES (18-0, 3-0 ACC)
Florida State enters the game as one of the hottest teams in baseball, the last remaining undefeated team in the country. Their 18-0 start is the second-best in program history behind the 2007 team's 23-0 start.

The Seminoles went 4-0 this week with a midweek win at Florida and a home sweep of Notre Dame to begin ACC play. They've only trailed for five complete innings in 18 games (162 innings).

On offense, they are led by the duo of Cam Smith and James Tibbs lll, who bat .487 and .403, respectively. The two have combined for 67 hits, 14 homeruns and 54 RBIs.

Brady Louck will take the mound for the Seminoles on Tuesday as the freshman southpaw has made four appearances this season. He holds a 3.18 ERA over 5.2 innings pitched while striking out 11 and holding opponents to .190 average.

In the 2024 ACC Preseason Poll, the Seminoles were selected to finish fourth in the Atlantic Division of the conference with 54 points.
