The Stetson Hatters fell to Central Arkansas 9-7 Saturday afternoon.
The Sugar Bears struck first tallying four runs off
Lauren Hobbs in the bottom of the first inning. The Hatters quickly answered in the top of the second.
Marissa Baxter started things off by doubling down the left field line. Baxter was able to advance to third on a pass ball as
Gia Napoli drew a walk.
Addison Foster brought in Baxter with a single to left field.
Madelyn Synoracki then loaded up the bases with a single of her own.
Lath Freeman was up next and she unloaded the bases with a double into the right center gap tying the game up at four.
Central Arkansas added three more runs in the bottom of the second inning put them back on top by a score of 7-4. The Sugar Bears made in 9-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Stetson continued to fight as they added on a few runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Kami Eppley started the inning off with a single to center field. Fox hit an infield and Baxter followed with a walk. With the bases loaded a wild pitch brought Eppley in to score. The Sugar Bears walked
Gianna Niemeier to reload the bases and Foster hit an infield single brining another run home. Synoracki then walked and the Hatters left the top of the fifth trailing by two.
Neither team was able to push another run across as the Hatters ended up falling 9-7. Foster tallied three hits and drove in two runs. Freeman and Eppley both tallied two hits with the former driving in two runs as well.
Stetson will return home and host the Florida Gators on Wednesday April 3. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm at Patricia Wilson.
