The Hatters fell 1-0 against EKU Sunday afternoon.
Lauren Hobbs started in the circle for Stetson and the Colonels scored a run off her in the top of the first inning. After that though both teams struggled to get runners on base.
The Hatters only had two hits going into the bottom of the seventh inning. Synoracki started off the bottom half of the inning by singling to left field. The next batter was
Lath Freeman and the first pitch she saw, she sent out towards center. It would have left the ballpark but the Colonel's center fielder leapt up and stole the walk-off home run. Stetson wouldn't be able to push the tying run across and fell 1-0.
Hobbs went three innings allowing the only run of the game.
Hannah Marien relieved her going 3.1 innings. Ash came in with inherited runners from Marien on first in third. She was able to get a ground ball and get the out at home before getting out of the jam to keep it a one run game in the sixth. The third out of the inning came on a web gem by
Madelyn Synoracki at second.
The Hatters will host Jacksonville for a three-game series starting on Saturday April 20. The first pitch is scheduled for 1pm. The second game on Saturday is scheduled to start at 3:30pm.
