Cheri Darley and
Katsiaryna Tuliakova were selected as ITA All Americans and will participate in the ITA Championships that start this weekend in North Carolina. Darley and Tuliakova are the only student-athletes in the ASUN who will participate. The Hatters are the reigning ASUN Champions and have won the ASUN two out of the last three seasons.
Darley is entering her senior season with the Hatters and coming off a season where she earned First Team ASUN playing primarily on court one. Cheri has made an ASUN Conference team every year as she made All-Freshmen and Third Team her first two years as a Hatter. In 2024 Darley held an overall record of 12-7, with an 11-7 record on court one and one victory on court two. In doubles play, Darley was 10-6 playing with teammates
Alanna DiFrancesco and
Noa Cohen.
Tuliakova enters her first season with the Hatters as she transferred from ASUN member Queens. Katsiaryna played two years at Queens playing mostly on court one for the Royals. In 2024 Tuliakova had a record of 15-6 all on the first court.
About the Championships:
Since 1983, the ITA Women's All-American Championships have featured the nation's top NCAA Division I players and have been a pioneer in women's college tennis. In addition, the event has created milestones that have directly influenced the popularity of women's collegiate tennis over the years.
The 2024 ITA Women's All-American Championships will have a draw size of the following, Singles: Pre-Qualifying (128), Qualifying (64), Main Draw (64) and Doubles: Pre-Qualifying (32), Qualifying (32), Main Draw (32). From this, ten singles players (10) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, four doubles teams (4) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists).
