Lexington, KY - Stetson Women's Soccer fell to Eastern Kentucky 3-2 Sunday afternoon.
Eva McCoy scored her first career goal and
Lea Alexander tallied her fifth goal of the season in the loss.
McCoy got the Hatters on the board early putting the ball into the bottom left corner of the goal in the seventh minute. Alexander found the back of the net in the twenty-eighth minute to give Stetson an early 2-0 lead. McCoy and
Sawyer Reynolds tallied assists on Alexander's goal. Eastern Kentucky scored about ten minutes later and Stetson went into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
Stetson's offensive pressure went away in the second half as they only registered two shots while the Colonels racked up 17 shots in the second half. Eastern Kentucky scored twice in the second half and the Hatters fell 3-2.
Up next for Stetson is a home match with ASUN newcomer West Georgia on Thursday, October 3. That game will kick off at 7:00pm.
