TAMPA, Fla. — Stetson mounted a strong second-half rally but came up just short in a 3-2 loss to South Florida Tuesday night at Corbett Stadium.
The Bulls struck early with goals in the 6th and 18th minutes to build a 2-0 halftime lead, then added a third shortly after the break. The Hatters answered back, cutting into the deficit in the 60th minute when junior forward Zsombor Pall buried his third goal of the season off an assist from Israel Daniels. Ten minutes later, sophomore forward Mauricio Restrepo converted unassisted for his first collegiate goal, pulling Stetson within one.
Despite the late push, the Bulls' early advantage held firm. Graduate goalkeeper Nicolo Radaelli finished with three saves in 90 minutes, while the Hatters generated consistent second-half pressure with three shots on target.
With the result, Stetson moved to 4-5-1 overall and remains 1-0-1 in ASUN play, while South Florida improved to 6-0-5 on the season.
Stetson returns to conference play on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they visit the North Florida Ospreys at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
