DeLAND, Fla. — Stetson senior forward Andres Mata has been named to the TopDrawer Soccer National Team of the Week, announced Tuesday, November 4.
Mata's recognition comes after a stellar week in which he helped propel the Hatters into the ASUN Conference Championship. The veteran winger scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against UTRGV, then followed with a two-goal performance in a 4-1 victory over North Florida that secured Stetson's postseason berth.
Earlier in the week, Mata was also named ASUN Player of the Week, becoming one of only a handful of Hatters to earn both honors in the same week. The senior now has four goals on the season and 19 for his career, continuing to be one of the program's most consistent and dangerous attacking threats.
Stetson will face Central Arkansas in the opening round of the ASUN Championship on Saturday night at host North Florida in Jacksonville.
