DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball returns home for its 2025–26 home opener on Friday, Nov. 7, welcoming Fort Lauderdale to the Insight Credit Union Arena at the Edmunds Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Hatters are coming off their season opener at Rhode Island, where sophomore guard Jamie Phillips Jr. led the way with 20 points. Phillips shot 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three-point range, and 60 percent from the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Junior forward Alex Doyle provided a spark off the bench, scoring 11 points in 17 minutes. He connected on 50 percent of his shots from both the field and beyond the arc, while contributing two rebounds and an assist. Freshmen Sean Morgan, Calvin Sirmans III, and Janusz Ratowski each made their collegiate debuts in the season opener.
Fort Lauderdale enters Friday's matchup playing its third game in four days. The Eagles opened their season with a 91–48 win over the University of South Florida Bible College before falling 78–74 to Beacon College on Tuesday. They will face Baptist University of Florida prior to visiting DeLand.
Chris Berry leads the Eagles in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field, 43 percent from three, and 92 percent from the free-throw line. Gavin Flowers anchors the defense, averaging 9.5 rebounds per game and leading the team with four blocks.
This will be the second meeting between Stetson and Fort Lauderdale. The Hatters won last year's matchup 103–77.
