Hatters Set for Home Debut Thursday Against Warner

DeLAND, Fla. – Stetson Women's Basketball is set to make its home debut Thursday night as the Hatters welcome the Warner Royals to Insight Credit Union Arena at the Edmunds Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The Hatters (0-1) return home following a competitive 73-82 season-opening loss at Alabama on Monday. Cameron Thomas led the charge with 27 points — the most by a Hatter in a season opener in over two decades. Graduate guard Mary McMillan added 18 points and eight assists, while junior forward Aleah Sorrentino and Promise Keshi each grabbed seven rebounds, with Sorrentino also scoring 12 points. Despite foul trouble down the stretch, Stetson showed strong offensive rhythm and depth early in the season as Head Coach Lynn Bria looks to inch closer to her 300th career win at Stetson.

The Hatters have won both previous meetings with Warner, including their last matchup in 2016. The Royals (2-1) visit DeLand for an exhibition contest after defeating Thomas University 60-51 on Tuesday. Through three games, Warner is averaging 53.7 points per game while allowing 51.3. Aleyna Sherman leads the Royals in scoring at 10.0 points per game, while Julia Gilbert and Lacienega Crockett are both averaging 7.3.

The Royals were selected sixth in the Sun Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, while the Hatters were picked third in the ASUN.

Thursday's game will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available at GoHatters.com. Fans can follow @StetsonWBB on social media and visit GoHatters.com for the latest updates throughout the season.
