Stetson Set for Monday Night Showdown with Sooners

DeLand, Fla. — Stetson men's basketball heads back on the road Monday, Dec. 22, for a matchup with Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 p.m.

The Hatters enter the contest with a 4–8 record and are coming off a 95–76 victory over Rhodes College, a game that featured three Stetson double-doubles. Jamie Phillips Jr. recorded one of those performances, finishing with 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Phillips continues to pace the Hatters in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.8 points and 5.7 boards per game.

Ethan Copeland knocked down eight three-pointers against Rhodes, raising his season average to 12.8 points per game while leading the team with 15 steals. Calvin Sirmans III continues to guide the offense, owning a team-high 53 assists after posting an 11-point, 11-assist double-double in the win. Collin Kuhl has provided steady two-way production and added his second double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. As a team, the Hatters are averaging 70 points per game while shooting 43 percent from the field, 33 percent from three-point range, and 62 percent from the free-throw line.

Oklahoma enters the matchup with an 8–3 record after back-to-back wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas City. The Sooners feature four players scoring in double figures, led by Nijel Pack at 17.1 points per game. Xzayvier Brown (14.5), Tae Davis (12.5), and Derrion Reid (11.4) round out the group. Mohamed Wague anchors the interior with 7.2 rebounds per game and 19 blocks, while Brown, Pack, and Davis have each recorded more than 30 assists this season. As a team, Oklahoma averages 85 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 33 percent from three, and 73 percent from the free-throw line.

This will be the fourth meeting between Stetson and Oklahoma and the second matchup between the two programs in as many seasons.
