FORT MYERS, FL – The Stetson men's basketball team suffered an 82-56 loss to the FGCU Eagles on the road Saturday night.

The Hatters got off to a rough start, trailing 40-23 at halftime. Despite continuing to battle in the second half, they fell behind 59-34 before a 7-0 run sparked by Josh Massey and Abramo Canka cut the deficit to 59-41. A few minutes later, Mehki Ellison scored five straight points to pull Stetson within 14, but that was as close as they would get, with FGCU holding on for the 82-56 victory.

Massey led the way for the Hatters with 19 points and five rebounds. Ellison added 13 points to help pace the offense.

Stetson will return home to face Jacksonville on Thursday, February 6 at 7:00 PM.
